About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe’s, you provide friendly, professional service and help customers find products and services for home improvement projects. You welcome and assist customers, answer questions, help locate and select merchandise, and may occasionally load merchandise. Much of the role involves listening to customers, answering questions, and organizing merchandise, with daily duties varying by department. Associates may work in Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services, based on hiring needs and skillsets. The position may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment, and occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores. Associates must follow lifting guidelines and use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise.
Replenish merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and down-stocking products.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-train in other store areas to help provide customer service.
Prepare merchandise according to customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Complete other duties as assigned.
