About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you welcome customers and help them find products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, help them select and handle merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. You may occasionally load merchandise and will spend time organizing merchandise and assisting customers throughout the store. Associates are assigned to a department based on hiring needs and skillsets. Departments may include Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Daily responsibilities vary by department and may include preparing merchandise to meet customer needs, such as mixing paint, cutting pipe, wood, drywall, or blinds. The role may involve working indoors and outdoors in varying weather and climate conditions, and exposure to noise and moving or shaking objects and equipment. Regular travel is not required, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. The listed pay range is $16.90–$17.20 per hour; starting pay may vary based on position, location, education, training, and experience.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted, or lift over 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, select, and handle merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to help deliver customer service.
Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, and cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
