About The Position

The Customer Service Associate performs cashier functions, interacts with customers, provides great customer service, and handles stock and merchandise on the sales floor. The position is a member of the Home Medical Equipment team.

Requirements

  • Must possess professional etiquette.

  • Must maintain the ability to listen attentively and compassionately to customers and donors.
  • Must have and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Must establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other Goodwill employees, donors, and other members of the public.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule on short notice, including night, weekends and occasionally long hours.
  • Ability to be flexible and over other areas of GHME when needed.
  • Must be able to interact with a variety of people and motivate to the highest level of productivity.
  • Vision corrected to within normal limits.
  • Ability to function in a hectic work environment with occasional periods of high stress.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of home medical equipment and healthcare field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Goodwill policies and safety procedures.
  • Successfully process register transactions, handle money, count down a drawer, and ask every customer for a Round-Up donation.
  • Achieve 40% Round-Up transaction average every month.
  • Engage customers successfully using the following steps: Greet every customer 5 feet from you, Focus on your customer, Maintain a clean, neat, and organized store, Walk, Talk, and Show, Thank your customer for supporting our free job training and education initiatives, Listen and respond appropriately to all customer concerns, Engage customers at the register, Effectively manage your register line, and Use good phone etiquette and answer timely.
  • Answer basic questions on functionality of home medical equipment.
  • Work in collaboration with Team Lead on A/R orders, and Operations Manager on shipping quotes/orders.
  • Provide purchase orders at the direction of the division Vice President.
  • Maintain a clean and neat personal appearance at all times.
  • Wear company issued uniform.
  • Regular attendance is required.
  • Perform all other essential duties as assigned.
