About The Position

As a Customer Service Associate at Lowe's, you welcome customers and help them find the right products and services for their home improvement needs. You listen to customers, answer questions, assist with selecting and locating merchandise, and ensure their needs are met. You may occasionally load merchandise, organize and replenish products, process orders and deliveries, and prepare merchandise according to customer needs. Responsibilities vary by department and may include work in appliances, cabinets, flooring, garden, hardware, tools, building materials, plumbing, electrical, paint, home décor, tool rental, or Pro Services. The position does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions may include indoor and outdoor environments, varying climates, noise, and moving equipment or objects. Associates must follow lifting guidelines and use powered equipment only as required and with appropriate training or assistance.

Requirements

At least 6 months of experience using a computer to input, access, modify, or output information.
At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary for the job.
Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Follow lifting guidelines that limit single lifts to 75 pounds; team lifts are used minimally starting at 75 pounds or when needed.
Use powered equipment as required, with proper training or assistance from a trained coworker.

Nice To Haves

At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
Bilingual skills.
A trade-related certification relevant to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials experience or certification.
Military or veteran background.

Responsibilities

Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
Help customers locate, handle, and select merchandise.
Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
Process orders and deliveries accurately so customers receive merchandise as expected and on time.
Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
Prepare department merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
Occasionally load merchandise.
Complete other duties as assigned.
