About The Position

Family Dollar is seeking a Customer Service Associate to deliver a positive shopping experience. The role assists customers, handles sales transactions, maintains cash security and company assets, stocks and recovers merchandise, receives deliveries, and helps unload trucks. It also involves keeping the store clean, safe, and presentable, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and taking out the trash. Associates are expected to maintain professional, friendly, and respectful interactions and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents.
Ability to lift 30 to 50 pounds from floor to above shoulder height and meet demands involving frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
Excellent customer service and relationship management skills.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous customer service experience in a retail, hotel, restaurant, grocery, or drug store environment.

Responsibilities

Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
Manage sales transactions while working an assigned cash register.
Maintain cash security and protect company assets.
Keep the store well-stocked and recover merchandise.
Receive merchandise, help unload trucks, and replenish stock in accordance with productivity standards.
Help ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment through professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
Maintain store cleanliness, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out trash, and keeping all areas neat and presentable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
