About The Position

This position involves scheduling Independent Medical Examinations (IME) with physicians on the BWC Disability Evaluators Panel, ensuring efficient scheduling for Extent of Disability (EOD) and 90-Day exams. The role also includes coordinating with doctors for other types of assessments like Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI) and additional allowances. Additionally, the assistant will schedule C-92 exams for Percentage of Permanent Partial Disability (%PPD) awards, increases, and newly allowed conditions. Responsibilities also include indexing and renaming faxed documents before electronic filing, providing customer service via phone and in person to injured workers, attorneys, and employers, and handling incoming mail and deliveries. The position operates within BWC's core hours of Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with potential variations in daily start/end times based on operational needs. Flex-time schedules are available, allowing start times between 7:00 am and 8:30 am, subject to supervisor approval and operational needs. Most positions require on-site work at one of BWC’s seven offices.

Requirements

  • 3 months training or 3 months experience in office practices & procedures
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in public relations or customer service to include techniques for dealing with difficult people
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in typing, keyboarding, data entry or word processing
  • 1 course or 3 months experience in operation of personal computer
  • Knowledge of BWC & Industrial Commission (IC) policies & standard operating procedures
  • Knowledge of applicable state & federal regulations governing documents processed, reviewed &/or prepared
  • Knowledge of public relations
  • Knowledge of BWC claims documents & forms
  • Knowledge of SI, IC, CCT
  • Knowledge of BWC claims-related terminology
  • Knowledge of scanning & imaging
  • Knowledge of TPAs, MCOs
  • Knowledge of Document Renaming Policy
  • Skill in operation of PC to efficiently log & enter data

Responsibilities
