About The Position

Richelieu Hardware is seeking a Customer Service Representative for their Victoria location. This role involves engaging with customers via phone, email, and in the showroom to assist with their needs. The position also includes assisting in the warehouse by picking orders as required. The company is a North American leader in the import, distribution, and manufacturing of specialty hardware and complementary products, serving over 120,000 customers and employing over 3,200 people.

Requirements

  • Fluent and well-spoken in the English language.
  • Familiar with order entry processes and procedures (AS400).
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, accuracy, and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, confidence, and comfort with both telephone and in-person contacts.
  • Self-starter and willingness to take initiative.
  • Independent in carrying out daily tasks.
  • Intermediate-to-advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Efficient computer keyboarding skills.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments.
  • Able to regularly lift 60 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Must currently reside within 25 km of the Greater Victoria area.

Nice To Haves

  • French language skills.
  • Experience working in a B2B environment in a sales role, at a contractor’s desk in a lumberyard, or one of the big box stores.
  • Experience in the cabinet & millwork or related industry.
  • Willingness to participate in training sessions on new products.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and answering customer inquiries at the customer service counter.
  • Responding, communicating, and providing timely information by phone or email.
  • Assisting customers by processing orders, product returns and claims, and picking orders as required.
  • Ensuring exceptional service and customer satisfaction while delivering best-in-class experience.
  • Maintaining the showroom by keeping shelves stocked and faced, routinely cleaning displays, and ensuring floors and aisles are kept clear.
  • Supporting the Outside Sales team by being a direct point of contact for their customers for prompt servicing of their needs.
  • Learning about the variety of products distributed, how they are used, and applying that knowledge to offer solutions for customers' needs.
