Customer Sales & Service Representative
About The Position
This role is for a Customer Service Representative with a global industrial distribution company. The company partners with over 4,000 manufacturers and is a leading value-added distributor of industrial products. The position involves providing expert assistance to customers, building ongoing business relationships through repeated contact and consultation, and quickly and efficiently providing parts and solutions, especially during equipment breakdowns. There is also an opportunity to utilize mechanical aptitude to solve customer problems. This role is seen as a starting point for growth towards a sales or management career, with a clear growth path and employee success stories. The company is an industry-leading value-added distributor of a wide variety of innovative and reliable industrial products. Since 1923, they have been committed to always having the right part in stock and always getting it to the customer when they need it. They are willing to train individuals who do not have prior experience in industrial distribution.
Requirements
- 6 months of customer service experience preferred
- Excellent telephone, and written skills, including English grammar
- Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Enjoys working with computers, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook & Excel) and comfortable with Google search engine
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- SAP / ERP experience, preferred but not required
- Some knowledge of industrial distribution products and hydraulics, preferred but not required
- Attention to detail, accuracy, ability to multitask, sense of humor
Responsibilities
- Assist customers by phone and in person at our facility
- Use customer service skills and talents to clarify customer needs, do research, and recommend parts
- Be focused and driven to meet/exceed monthly sales goals while increasing customer satisfaction
- Process quotes, take orders and provide post-order service
