About The Position

The Customer Sales Rep assists customers in initiating purchases and provides a high level of customer service to maintain a positive buying experience. The role helps customers select firearms, Class III items, ammunition, tactical, hunting, fishing, outdoor equipment, and men’s and women’s apparel. It requires detailed and accurate completion of Federal Firearms Transfer Records (4473) and related documents, product knowledge to support customers’ decisions, and efficient sales to help meet store goals. The position reports directly to the store manager and may receive daily duties or instructions from the Department Lead. Following directions is required. The role may involve challenging customer interactions and regular evening, weekend, or holiday work. Applicants must be at least 18 years old. Employment is contingent on export-control screening to verify U.S. Person status or determine whether an export license or license exception is available.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous sales or customer service experience.
• High attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high customer volume.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to lead, motivate, mentor, communicate, and interact positively with people.
• Positive, goal-driven, customer-service-oriented approach focused on the organization’s strategic picture.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must provide information for export-control screening; employment depends on verification of U.S. Person status or obtaining/confirming availability of any necessary export authorization.

Nice To Haves

• Working knowledge of 4473 paperwork and the FBI NICS system.
• Cash handling and previous cash register experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with purchasing selections, including firearms, Class III items, ammunition, tactical, hunting, fishing, outdoor equipment, and apparel.
• Provide outstanding customer service and greet customers promptly as they approach the work area.
• Resolve customer issues to the best of your ability.
• Maintain the store through tasks such as sweeping, dusting, restocking, and fronting merchandise.
• Complete Federal Firearms Transfer Records (4473) and related documents with 100% accuracy.
• Maintain a high working knowledge of product offerings to advise customers in their purchasing decisions.
• Remain impartial during sales and avoid allowing personal bias to negatively influence transactions.
• Close sales efficiently to support overall store sales goals.
• Follow directions and perform other duties as assigned.
