About The Position

Located onsite in Hollister, CA, The Customer Quality Engineer (CQE) is responsible for performing thorough proposal reviews, sales order reviews, interfacing with purchasing, customers and documenting lessons learned for each assigned sales order. Candidate is expected to be closely involved with the upfront planning of new orders, work closely with customers, and initiate/participate with upfront planning improvements. Responsible for assisting the Program Manager and Contact Administrators in reviewing RFP’s/RFQ’s quality requirements ensuring said requirements are clearly defined. Responsible for reviewing the contract (and subsequent changes) and completing the contract review summary form. A review of other compliance, SDRL, unique Flowdowns must occur prior to the sales order kickoff. PPQ’s and updated. Inspection Plans and Reports (IP&R’s) are also to be verified/created for all components as part of sales order kick-off preparation activities. Participate in the compliance matrix activities. Should a First Article Inspection (FAI) plan be required, the QE will draft this plan for submittal and approval by the customer (as required). Drive root cause and corrective actions for customer related nonconformances. Facilitate internal, customer and 3rd Party audits. Communicate any PO changes or customer updates to the contract. Participate in any PDR or CDR’s. Responsible to interface with the customer as necessary in order to complete the delivery of the order. This includes presentation of the lot data packages, and FAI’s as necessary. Verify all quality contractual requirements have been met and lessons learned from the customer order have been documented. Attend all sales order close out meetings. Generate control plans for product and work with Manufacturing Engineering to incorporate the plans into build documentation. Lead Material Review Board activities as part of an IPT team. Participate in Failure Review Board activities. Attend start of shift meetings in the areas in which the CQE supports; attend in-person daily management meetings and in-person required training sessions. Generate program quality metrics (FPY, Non-conformances, CARS, etc.) Prepare quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and making recommendations. Support Supplier Development Engineering when vendor hardware discrepancies are discovered. Perform other related duties as assigned. This role requires U.S. citizenship in adherence to ITAR, DFARS, and federal compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, or 3-5 years’ experience directly related to work environment
  • US Citizenship required per ITAR Regulations
  • Candidate must be proficient in Word, Excel, and statistical software
  • Strong oral and written communication skill

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in ordnance and use of energetic materials, powders/propellants are a plus
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning and Production Part Approval Process is a plus
  • ASQ Certification is a plus
  • Non-degreed applicants shall be reviewed on a case-by-case basis for possible acceptance based upon related work experience
