About The Position

The Customer Quality Engineer will lead and direct customer issues to closure by facilitating appropriate teams, problem-solving, and providing quality assurance to prevent future quality events. This role serves as the primary interface with customers for quality-related concerns and involves coordinating customer requests and audits. The engineer will analyze and interpret various materials to determine requirements, inspection procedures, and resolution paths for issues. Responsibilities include planning and conducting analysis, inspection, testing, and integration to ensure product/process quality, coordinating sorting and containment activities, and maintaining relevant databases and tracking systems. The role also requires completing documentation such as 8Ds, 5Ps, and 5-Whys, championing continuous improvement, ensuring adherence to IATF/ISO quality standards, and maintaining a positive influence to enhance Nifco's success. Higher levels (II and III) involve leading teams to develop countermeasures, spearheading critical quality issues, planning the quality structure for projects, and mentoring/training junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of IATF/ISO quality standards
  • Ability to maintain portals, websites, databases, and tracking systems

Responsibilities

  • Primary interface with customers for quality related concerns
  • Coordinate, lead, and facilitate customer requests and audits in a timely manner
  • Analyze and interpret drawings, data, manuals, and other materials to determine requirements, inspection/testing procedures, and path forward to resolve the issue
  • Plan and conduct the analysis, inspection, testing requirements/procedure, and integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or process
  • Coordination of sorting and containment activities (internal/external)
  • Maintain all related portals, websites, databases, and tracking systems (internal/external)
  • Complete appropriate documentation as required, such as 8Ds, 5Ps, 5-Whys, etc…
  • Champion continuous improvement efforts to assure continued customer satisfaction
  • Ensure that the existing IATF/ISO/etc. quality standards are maintained and followed
  • Maintain a positive influence by behaving in a manner that enhances Nifco’s success
  • Lead teams to develop countermeasures for shortcomings to prevent reoccurrence (Level II)
  • Spearhead critical quality issues, and lead teams to eliminate issue reoccurrence (Level III)
  • Plan and develop all aspects of the quality structure to assure the quality of the project (Level III)
  • Mentor and train lower level engineers and assist with management functions (Level III)
  • Complete an approved quality or process improvement mechanism once per quarter (Level III)
