About The Position

As a Customer Planning Manager at Clorox, you will play a pivotal role in driving Target customer team operations through effective forecasting, financial management, and sales analytics. You'll support the Burt’s Bees Target Sales Team by managing the promotional planning process, assisting in Beauty and Health Department line reviews, planning customer growth summits, delivering insights through data analysis, and ensuring smooth execution of Clorox and customer-facing initiatives. This is a high-impact role requiring strong analytical thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of Clorox systems and tools.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of CPG experience, Target experience preferred (systems knowledge: VIQ, POP, ICM)
  • Data & analytics experience at Senior Analyst level or above with proven success
  • Understanding of Customer P&L and factors to influence Topline and GM goals
  • General Clorox knowledge (how things work, who to go to, business rhythms)
  • Target / Retail fundamental knowledge and understanding of metrics, processes and timelines
  • Understanding Clorox business plans and creating customer goals
  • Leading peers and influencing internally.
  • Comfortable communicating via meetings and emails with Target PIM team (Planners & Inventory Analysts)
  • Partner closely with cross functional roles such as Sales Planing, Supply Chain, and Analysts
  • Proactive ownership of business, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, removing barriers and obstacles, team player.
  • Experience working with forecasting and reporting tools (e.g., PowerBI, Exceedra, IRIS)
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort with large datasets
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to communicate drivers and complex variables in a succinct manner to senior leaders and Customer Merch partners
  • Thrives in fast paced environment and successfully manage multiple priorities

Responsibilities

  • Manage Trade Funds Checkbook and all tracking via Exceedra planning
  • Approve and submit customer contracts via TVI
  • Maintain in-line spend estimates and refute or reconcile post-audits
  • Analyze budgets to flag and understand over- or under-spends
  • Drive accurate 18-month sales forecasting, incorporating driver inputs such as growth expectations, promotional events, and risk/opportunity assessments
  • Track performance vs. forecast, conduct root cause analyses, and identify gaps (e.g., promo misses)
  • Support Customer Team Lead on quarterly Customer Reviews to Brand
  • Track SBP (Supplier Business Planning) with Customer Team Lead input
  • Monitor and report on shipping, POS consumption trends, and inventory levels
  • Collaborate with Target Financial Planners and Inventory Analysts on special purchases with buy commits and in-season inventory management
  • Collaborate with Customer Service Supply Chain Manager on WIP reports, manage displays
  • Own standard reporting and ad hoc analytics using tools like Exceedra, IRIS, PowerBI, CoPilot, TPO, and High Radius
  • Use syndicated and customer-specific omni data to identify white space and growth opportunities (e.g., distribution voids, new items)
  • Mentor Senior Sales Analyst to assess ROI and performance metrics
  • Coordinate logistics for customer sales meetings
  • Serve as the go-to expert for enterprise tools and systems
  • Support Senior Sales Analyst through administrative and operational tasks to keep the team running efficiently, such as New Item Set-up and Display Tracking
