About The Position

Our Customer Innovation and Business Development Specialist III role is focused on identifying, evaluating, and testing new ideas that improve the customer experience and create growth opportunities for the business. The person in this role will research consumer needs (primary and secondary research), market trends, competitive activity, and emerging opportunities. They will build comprehensive business cases and recommendations, then help plan and manage a portfolio of real-world tests and pilots. The work will include finding and vetting new services, customer experiences, tools, technology, partnerships, or new concepts that create value for customers and support future growth. OVERVIEW Responsible for leading the identification and evaluation of new business growth opportunities by researching trends, analyzing market and financial data, and developing strategic business cases. Owns and drives the innovation pipeline end-to-end, including piloting, operational rollout, and scaling initiatives. Partners with cross-functional leadership to ensure alignment with organizational priorities and uses insights to inform strategic decisions that strengthen customer experience, accelerate growth, and create long-term business impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Strategy, or a related field required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in business case development, innovation consulting/decision making, and financial modeling required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading cross-functional projects and innovation initiatives in retail, consumer packaged goods, or growth-oriented environments required.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Certificate in Design Thinking, Innovation Management, or Product Management preferred

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal teams to lead projects on consumer, category, and retail trends to identify high-impact opportunities and guide concept development.
  • Drive business case creation, including market analysis, financial modeling, partnership evaluation, and identification of businesses or ventures for strategic investment, primarily in consumer-packaged goods.
  • Own and manage portions of the innovation pipeline, including prioritization, tracking, coordination of pilots, and project documentation.
  • Plan, oversee, and execute in-store pilot rollouts, ensuring alignment with operations, store management, and internal teams.
  • Direct operational logistics for pilots, including inventory management, floor planning, product setup, procurement, and supply chain coordination.
  • Lead frontline training initiatives and on-the-floor coaching; provide strategic problem-solving and troubleshooting to ensure high-quality rollout and customer experience.
  • Analyze feedback from stakeholders and customers during pilots, synthesize insights, and present recommendations to senior leadership for refinement and scaling decisions.
  • Partner closely with marketing, operations, and digital teams to ensure initiatives are aligned with business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with internal teams, external partners, and potential investment or venture targets to advance projects and share learnings.
  • Prepare and deliver executive-level presentations and reports that communicate recommendations, results, and next steps to leadership.
