The associate must maintain proper security measures for cash drawers and adhere to all store and legal guidelines, including those for tobacco and alcohol sales. They are expected to be knowledgeable about weekly ads, marketing promotions, and store layout to assist customers effectively. Additionally, the role involves maintaining general sanitation in the department, following cleaning schedules, and ensuring work areas and equipment meet health and OSHA requirements. The associate is also responsible for continuously improving job performance, utilizing company-provided Personal Protected Equipment (PPE), and cooperating with co-workers and supervisors to ensure smooth department and store function.
