About The Position

RevenueBase is building the data infrastructure that makes AI agents trustworthy. We provide continuously refreshed, verified B2B data for autonomous AI agents and GTM workflows. We have experienced significant growth, maintaining high customer retention and remaining cashflow positive. Our platform powers AI agents for prominent companies like Clay, Zoominfo, and Dun & Bradstreet. We are hiring a Customer Engineer to serve as a technical partner for our customers, helping them succeed with our product by guiding them through complex data searches to achieve their desired business outcomes. This role is crucial for owning the entire customer lifecycle, from onboarding and activation to ensuring customer health and driving expansion. As the founding hire for this function, you will build and lead the Customer Engineering team as the company grows.

Requirements

  • Proven experience owning a quota (NRR, expansion, or retention) and driving it effectively.
  • Experience working at early-stage companies.
  • A preference for action and a dislike for unnecessary process.
  • Strong technical literacy, including the ability to read customer integration code (Python, JSON, SQL), identify issues, write small scripts for API calls, and engage credibly in technical discussions.
  • Fluency in B2B data concepts, including firmographics, technographics, intent, and contact enrichment, with an understanding of data challenges like email bounces and name matching.
  • A solid understanding of API concepts such as REST, webhooks, rate limits, authentication, and the differences between batch processing and real-time API calls.
  • Ability to guide customers through integrating our MCP server.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in B2B data, sales intelligence, or RevOps tooling.
  • Experience with MCP servers or LLM-powered agent workflows.
  • Prior experience as a founding CS or founding CE at an early-stage company.

Responsibilities

  • Own the "first successful search" for every new customer, ensuring their activation milestone is met quickly.
  • Manage customer health across all accounts, proactively identifying value realization, inactivity, and at-risk customers.
  • Drive expansion and cross-sell opportunities by identifying customer needs for new API features like verification, enrichment, discovery, and MCP.
  • Scale onboarding processes to handle 3-5 new customers per month, aiming for 10+, ensuring onboarding is light, fast, and reliably successful.
  • Act as the voice of the customer within RevenueBase, relaying customer needs and feedback from all interactions to product and engineering teams.
  • Build the Customer Engineering function by creating playbooks, health scoring frameworks, expansion motions, and onboarding processes, and iterating on them as needed.
