The Customer Due Diligence Analyst owns customer due diligence end to end, from onboarding through periodic and event-driven reviews. The role conducts CIP and CDD for individuals and legal entities, assigns customer risk ratings, and performs enhanced due diligence on high-risk customers, complex ownership structures, and FBO relationships. Cases are prepared for decision by the High-Risk Customer Review Committee. The position reports directly to the Deputy BSA Officer. Augustus is building an AI-native bank designed to operate largely autonomously. The analyst improves review-agent prompts and partners with Engineering and Product to automate onboarding within regulatory limits. The role applies judgment to set the standard that agents follow, with the aim of automating routine cases so the analyst can focus on complex cases, event-driven reviews, and exceptions. During the first two months, the analyst works the onboarding queue end to end, including CIP, document review, beneficial ownership certification, and risk rating, while learning the Bank’s CRR methodology and identifying gaps in the process and agent performance. In months three and four, the analyst owns EDD cases and prepares committee-ready files without rework while refining agent prompts. By months five and six, agents are expected to handle standard onboarding and periodic reviews, while the analyst handles complex cases and works with Engineering and Product on additional compliant onboarding automation. This is an onsite role based in New York City. Compensation includes base salary, equity, and benefits. The annual US base salary range is $100,000–$150,000, with offers based on experience, expertise, and geographic location.
