About The Position

This is a full-time field position requiring minimal office work. The role involves performing warranty service for homeowners after closing, conducting scheduled home warranty inspections, documenting repair needs, and coordinating with Customer Care Coordinators for scheduling and work orders. The technician will also educate homeowners on the use of their home's mechanical and electrical equipment and perform light repairs such as sheetrock, paint, plumbing, and electrical work. Ensuring timely completion of all warranty service requests is crucial.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Must have a customer service background and a positive attitude.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confrontation in a professional manner is essential.
  • Knowledge of residential construction.
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and valid motor vehicle liability insurance are required.
  • Physical stamina is required because this position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, some climbing or balancing and carrying.
  • The team member must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more.
  • Residency in one of the following states is a requirement for the position: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, or Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-5 years’ experience in residential construction preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain quality assurance and provide warranty service to homeowners after closing.
  • Conduct scheduled periodic home warranty inspections at 30 days, 6 months and 12 months after closing, or as needed by the home owner.
  • Document items needing repair during scheduled warranty inspections.
  • Work with Customer Care Coordinators with scheduling appointments with home owners and requesting work orders for repairs.
  • Educate home owners to use and operate their homes’ mechanical and electrical equipment, as needed, during scheduled inspections.
  • Perform light sheetrock, paint, plumbing, electrical, etc. during home warranty inspections.
  • Ensure all warranty service requests are complete within a certain time period.
