About The Position

Lidl is hiring a Customer Assistant for its Wilton store on a standard 30-hour contract. The role involves varied tasks and shift times, working with colleagues to provide a positive customer experience. Customer Assistants may work morning, middle, or late shifts. Morning shifts start at 5 a.m. or 6 a.m. and involve stocking products and preparing bakery items before opening. Middle shifts begin mid-morning or early afternoon and include cleaning and presenting the store, maintaining product freshness, helping customers, and operating tills. Late shifts begin in the afternoon and focus on serving customers, restocking products, and preparing the store for the next day. The role requires selling alcohol, so employees must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

Interact with customers in a pleasant, friendly, and helpful manner.
Follow stock-loss controls in all areas of the store.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the store and external areas.
Follow product freshness and rotation principles.
Manage waste correctly.
Assist with the stock count process.
Stock the shop floor and prepare bakery products for opening.
Help customers with queries and operate tills to minimise queues.
Restock missing items and prepare the store for the next day.
