About The Position

We are seeking a Custom Software Engineer with at least 6 years of experience in software engineering. The role involves following Agile development principles, contributing to technical designs, and delivering high-quality, error-free product features. The engineer will be responsible for understanding functional/technical designs, performing build activities, and improving code quality before production deployment. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a willingness to pair program, and a passion for knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Requirements

6 or more years of experience with software engineering
5 or more years of experience with JVM based languages such as Java
3 or more years of experience with SQL/No SQL databases such as Cassandra or MongoDB
3 or more years of experience with Database integrations - with some architecture experience
Fluent in Test Driven Development
Willingness to pair program as needed
Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and/or experience

Nice To Haves

Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (e.g. Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine, OpenStack, Rackspace cloud, etc.)
Knowledge of and working experience with open source software (Apache, ToClientat, MeClientached, etc.).
Jenkins pipelines (CI/CD)
Linux and Mac OSX
Demonstrated experience in an Agile environment

Responsibilities

Follow the Agile development principles and practices.
Ask questions when things do not look right, make suggestions to PO and BA, review acceptance criteria and test their deliverables before handing it over to QA.
Understand the Functional/Technical Design and perform build activities.
Contribute and create technical design for their features being developed.
Take initiative and show creativity in solving complex problems.
Consistently deliver a high volume of story points relative to their team.
Deliver error free product features.
Pair Programming as needed.
Improve code quality regularly before deploying to Production.
Share their knowledge with others and have a passion for learning from others.
