About The Position

Applies agricultural chemicals and fertilizer by performing the following duties. Reads and understands label information from manufacturers and distributors of pesticides, fertilizers, and other products containing hazardous chemicals. Evaluates label information to determine that directions for use are followed during application. Applies products in a timely, effective and accurate manner. Follows guidelines for recording information on weather conditions, product used, field conditions and rates. Maintains equipment to insure safe and accurate application. Performs or ensures routine maintenance is performed. Prepares, organizes, and maintains records to document activities. During non-application seasons, performs maintenance on warehouse, location grounds and equipment.

Requirements

  • Commercial Chemical Applicators License (1A,1B,1C) is required.
  • Maintain a valid Class C Commercial Driver’s License with proper endorsements and commercial insurability at all times.
  • Valid DOT physical is also required.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Able to use computer equipment related to inventory, work orders, billing and on blending and application equipment.
