About The Position

Stockbridge Community Schools is seeking a Custodian to join their team. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the school buildings and premises. The ideal candidate will be punctual, reliable, and able to follow directions. This role involves a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a comfortable and healthy environment for students and staff.

Requirements

High school diploma required
Valid Michigan driver’s license
Must be able to periodically lift up to 50 pounds
Must relate well with students, staff, and community
Must be able to follow oral and written directions

Responsibilities

Strives constantly to promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employees.
Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
Shovels, plows and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas and steps, as appropriate.
Checks to ensure that all exit doors are open and all panic bolts are working properly.
Sweeps hallways and cafeteria daily and dusts furniture.
Cleans areas each day, as conditions require.
Cleans and disinfects toilets daily and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
Washes all windows on both the inside and outside monthly and more frequently if necessary.
Keeps the grounds free from rubbish.
Punctual, reliable and predictable attendance is required.
Other duties as assigned.
