About The Position
The Custodian position at Perry High School, within the Chandler Unified School District, is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and attractive physical plant. This role involves a variety of cleaning, maintenance, and security tasks to ensure the school environment is conducive to learning and operations. Requirements
- Ability to read and write English as it pertains to job functions
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Nice To Haves
- Previous custodial experience desired
- College degree in a similar field
Responsibilities
- Sweep, dust, vacuum, scrub, wax, and polish the floors and surfaces
- Wash windows, walls, woodwork, and equipment
- Cleans assigned areas to prescribed standards and requirements
- Empty trash receptacles
- Perform minor repairs
- Move furniture and equipment based on the needs of the facility
- Replace light bulbs and perform minor maintenance
- Inspect all fire equipment on campus and maintain records of inspection
- Report safety/security hazards and needs for major repairs in an expeditious manner
- Secures the facility, ensuring building is locked/unlocked as required
- Handle emergency custodial duties for principals, teachers, and staff
- Follow district policies as outlined
- Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed by supervisors
