About The Position
The Custodian provides general custodial work. This position is responsible for maintaining and providing routine scheduled cleaning as well as quality cleaning in and outdoors.
Requirements
- Knowledge of building repairs such as painting wall patching, striping, and buffing floors and minor plumbing repairs
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and drive a small utility cart
- Licensing, state law and our government funders require that staff within YMCA of San Diego County be fingerprinted, prior to reporting to work, and include subsequent arrest notifications
- CPR/AED, and First Aid Certification, must include Adult and Child/Infant, obtained within 30 days of hire and must be from one of the following certifying organizations:o American Red Crosso American Heart Associationo American Safety & Health Institute
Responsibilities
- Perform all scheduled janitorial tasks throughout all buildings
- Perform detailed janitorial tasks during closing hours one evening per month
- Ensure all restroom dispensers are adequately stocked at all times
- Perform daily trash pick-up throughout the facility
- Provide courteous and helpful service to guests at all times
- Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency
- Physical ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
