About The Position

This is a full-time Custodian position requiring 40 hours per week, with a work schedule of Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM. The role involves cleaning and maintaining various areas, including work sites, restrooms, and exterior areas of offices, shops, and other occupied spaces, in accordance with contract requirements and company policy. The position also requires adherence to safe cleaning procedures, safety requirements, and the use of personal protective equipment. Additional responsibilities may include spot cleaning, dusting, window washing, furniture cleaning, trash collection, dryer duct cleaning, and grounds maintenance, particularly if applicable to a Child Development Center. The role emphasizes communication skills, the ability to maintain positive working relationships, and the capacity to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Requirements

Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance.
Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirements.
Listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
The ability to read and write the English language is highly desired.
Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech.
Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
Ability to possess and maintain a security clearance applicable for the assigned work area.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
At least six months of experience in a similar position is desired.

Responsibilities

Cleans and keeps work sites, restrooms, and exterior areas of offices, shops, and other occupied areas in orderly condition in accordance with contract requirements and company policy.
Performs work in accordance with safe and up-to-date cleaning procedures and methods.
Complies with all safety requirements related to the job assignment.
Wears and uses applicable personal protective equipment, as required.
Performs other duties as required to fulfill janitorial contract obligations or changes based on customer needs.
Accomplishes all custodial tasks in accordance with the description of tasks listed in the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Performs all other duties as outlined in Phoenix Personnel Policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Spot Clean (Doors, Mirrors, Walls, Windows, etc.)
High Dusting (Between 6.5’ and 10’)
Windows (exterior/interior wash)
Clean Interior Glass
Clean glass/mirrors to the standards as specified in paragraph 5.14.1.28
Spot Clean Children’s Furniture
Routine Cleaning of Children’s Furniture
Collecting and Disposing of All Trash and Debris
Clean Dryer Ducts
Cleaning Washers/Dryers
Grounds (cleaning playground equipment, gathering areas, and trash pick-up)
