About The Position

Under basic supervision, this role cleans and maintains Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center facilities according to safety rules and quality standards, keeping areas in clean and orderly condition. Duties may include cleaning snow and debris from entrances and grounds. Essential duties and responsibilities include performing custodial and janitorial duties in all areas of the Recreation Center building, maintaining attractive, sanitary, and safe facilities for Recreation staff and the public. Duties may vary according to job assignment. The role involves cleaning floors, walls, and windows using manual and power equipment; emptying trash receptacles; cleaning sidewalks and entrance ways; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms; and restocking restroom supplies. The Custodian must follow all safety rules and regulations, clean up spills and unsafe conditions in a timely manner, and notify the supervisor of safety hazards, equipment problems, repair and replacement needs, and emergency situations. The position also requires supporting the relationship between Teton County staff and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior, maintaining confidentiality of work-related issues and County information, and performing other duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must possess a valid Wyoming/Idaho Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record
  • Knowledge of County policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of materials, methods, tools, and equipment used in cleaning
  • Knowledge of safe work practices, occupational hazards, and safety precautions in public facilities
  • Skills in using basic tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Skills in following written and verbal instructions and procedures, including proper use and storage of chemicals
  • Skills in communicating effectively verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to establish and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers
