About The Position

The Custodian position is part of the Facilities Department and is classified as Non-Exempt. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) role with a work schedule that varies depending on the custodial assignment. Occasional weekend and evening hours may be required for tasks such as snow shoveling and during events like commencement, reunion, and move-in weekends. The work location is on campus. The hourly rate for this position is $21-$23.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Stable work history.
Basic skills in using standard office equipment and computer applications, including email, word processing, spreadsheet, and database, or willingness to learn.

Nice To Haves

Vocational/Technical school training.
Previous cleaning experience.
Operational experience with floor machines, hydraulic man-lift, snow blowers.

Responsibilities

Clean floors by sweeping, dust mopping, mopping, auto scrubbing, waxing, polishing, vacuuming, and carpet extraction.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms and showers, including sinks, toilets, and urinals.
Restock soap, hand towels, and toilet paper in bathrooms.
Clean horizontal and vertical surfaces, including glass, walls, woodwork, vents, and light fixtures.
Clean windowsills, desktops, and classroom boards.
Collect trash and recycle material and place it in designated outside containers.
Clean all indoor trash and recycling bins.
Remove snow from building entrances, sidewalks, and steps.
Unclog sink and toilet drains.
Replace light bulbs.
Report items needing repair.
Assist in buildings with staff shortages.
Complete set-ups for events.
Move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed.
Complete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.
Perform other duties as assigned.
