About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining work sites, restrooms, and exterior areas of offices, shops, and other occupied areas in an orderly condition in accordance with contract requirements and company policy. This role involves performing work in accordance with safe and up-to-date cleaning procedures and methods, complying with all safety requirements, and wearing and using applicable personal protective equipment. The position may also involve other duties as required to fulfill janitorial contract obligations or changes based on customer needs, all accomplished in accordance with the contract Performance Work Statement (PWS) and Phoenix Personnel Policies and the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Specific tasks may include spot cleaning, high dusting, window washing, cleaning interior glass, cleaning children's furniture, collecting and disposing of trash, cleaning dryer ducts, and grounds maintenance.

Requirements

• Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance.
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirements.
• Listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• The ability to read and write the English language is highly desired.
• Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
• Adequate ability to communicate in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech.
• Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
• Ability to possess and maintain a security clearance applicable for the assigned work area.
• Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
• Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and in all situations.
• Ability to move safely about the work area.
• Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas.
• Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures.
• Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.

Nice To Haves

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least six months of experience in a similar position is desired.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and keeps work sites, restrooms, and exterior areas of offices, shops, and other occupied areas in orderly condition in accordance with contract requirements.
• Performs work in accordance with safe and up-to-date cleaning procedures and methods.
• Complies with all safety requirements related to the job assignment.
• Wears and uses applicable personal protective equipment, as required.
• Performs other duties as required to fulfill janitorial contract obligations or changes based on customer needs.
• Spot Clean (Doors, Mirrors, Walls, Windows, etc.)
• High Dusting (Between 6.5’ and 10’)
• Windows (exterior/interior wash)
• Clean Interior Glass
• Clean glass/mirrors to the standards as specified in paragraph 5.14.1.28
• Spot Clean Children’s Furniture
• Routine Cleaning of Children’s Furniture
• Collecting and Disposing of All Trash and Debris
• Clean Dryer Ducts
• Cleaning Washers/Dryers
• Grounds (cleaning playground equipment, gathering areas, and trash pick-up)
