Custodian
About The Position
The Custodian will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be found on the daily schedule. This role involves performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, maintaining daily upkeep of assigned areas, reporting incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor, complying with safety rules, policies, and procedures, performing repetitive tasks, maintaining a clean work area, following all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules, taking direction and responding to supervision, talking with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner, filling in during staff shortages, supporting shift leads in completing punch-list items, using proper personal protective equipment, presenting a professional appearance and conduct, understanding customer service and satisfaction, and understanding reporting systems and the environment.
Requirements
- No specific education requirement, 3-6 months training or experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- May be required to have a valid driver’s license.
- Completed all safety and task training certification.
- May be required to be forklift certified.
- Bilingual a plus
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willing to share with team.
- Knowledge of the upkeep and care of the cleaning equipment.
- Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
