About The Position

This is a part-time Custodian position at Marquette Park within the Parks Department. The nature of the work involves operating varied maintenance and landscaping equipment at the City’s Parks and ground areas. Responsibilities include maintaining indoor and outdoor pavilions. The role requires the ability to lift 40 pounds. Assignments may be given in detail or follow an established routine, and work is subject to review for quality and quantity.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• A valid Driver’s license.
• The ability to multitask.
• Able to establish effective working relationships while treating members of the public, fellow City of Gary employees, and representatives of outside agencies with courtesy and respect.
