About The Position

Perform general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building. Perform minor repairs and maintenance such as replacing light fixtures or unclogging pipes. Clean and sanitize restrooms, lunchrooms and all common areas of the building. Perform limited grounds maintenance such as cleaning the parking lots. Maintain a neat and orderly janitor’s room; ensure cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked. Wash all glass and windows. Assist in examining building for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisor. Model proper work ethics, behaviors, hygiene, and dress in appropriate manner. Coordinate work assignments as needed to meet production and Program Participant needs. Mentor Program Participants in custodial role: Provide Custodial training to Program Participants. Monitor Program Participant performance and submit weekly evaluations. Provide immediate feedback to Program Participants on performance. Provide information on Program Participant performance to case manager as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of custodial experience.
  • Skill in prioritizing workload to meet daily schedules.
  • Ability to mentor Participants.
  • Experience and knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
  • Work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
  • Previous custodial experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Consistent use of computer.
  • Consistent use of hands and fingers to reach, manipulate, handle, and hold material.
  • Consistent use of vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and spatial relationship.
  • Consistent use of hearing ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Consistent use of speaking ability to express or exchange ideas, communicate detailed information, or convey instructions.
  • Frequent lifting of 5 or 10 pounds, with occasional lifting to 35 pounds.
  • Occasional exposure to manufacturing shop floor, requiring use of Safety Glasses.
  • Occasional exposure to excess noise levels, occasionally necessitating the use of Hearing Protection.
