About The Position

Performs responsible semiskilled custodial and building maintenance work in the care and cleaning of the Jimmy Floyd Center. This role involves completing daily task sheets, maintaining facilities, cleaning restrooms, touching up paint, and general groundskeeping. The position requires physical exertion and the ability to work in various environmental conditions.

Requirements

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
Must have a valid Tennessee Driver’s License.
Ability to perform medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, stooping, reaching, walking, pushing, lifting, and grasping.
Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word.
Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken work levels.
Visual acuity is required for operations of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

Completes daily task sheet including washing windows, walls, woodwork, and Venetian blinds.
Keeps custodian closet in a clean and orderly manner.
Keeps all equipment clean.
Maintains the upkeep of facilities and premises.
Cleans and supplies restrooms daily.
Touches up paint on walls and cleans if necessary.
Cleans and picks up trash on the grounds and parking lots, including raking leaves, trimming bushes, and shoveling snow.
Vacuums, sweeps, damp mops, and dust mops floors.
Moves furniture, office equipment, and boxes.
Gathers and disposes of refuse.
Performs painting and repairing of equipment.
Operates light equipment when necessary.
Maintains the appearance of Jimmy Floyd grounds and facilities.
