About The Position

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, the Custodian performs a variety of routine domestic cleaning and custodial duties for New Horizon Family Health Services, Inc. Responsible for the overall environmental cleanliness and safety of the Center.

Requirements

  • Minimum of six (6) months experience as a Housekeeper/Custodian.
  • Must be capable of understanding and carrying out routine instructions.
  • Must be able to read and understand safety/chemical labels and safety data sheets.

Nice To Haves

  • High School graduate or GED preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintains cleanliness of restrooms and assures the availability of soap, hand towels, toilet and facial tissue, etc.
  • On a daily basis, disinfects medical treatment rooms in strict accordance with established guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Responds immediately to request for clean-up/environmental assistance.
  • Assists in maintaining adequate stock control of departmental supplies.
  • Completes heavy mopping, stripping, and waxing of halls and bathroom facilities as needed.
  • Completes detailed cleaning of medical treatment rooms and work areas as needed.
  • Empties waste receptacles and changes receptacle bags on a daily basis.
  • Follows OSHA guidelines for cleaning patient care areas, laboratory and other areas of the facility.
  • Follows OSHA guidelines for handling infectious waste and hazardous material.
  • Must be familiar with infectious waste disposal procedures.
  • Must be capable of understanding and carrying out routine instructions.
  • Must be able to read and understand safety/chemical labels and safety data sheets.
