About The Position

The Custodian performs and oversees routine cleaning and sanitizing of residential and public areas. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and disinfecting. The role ensures that restrooms, lobbies, and high-traffic areas are cleaned and restocked throughout the day to maintain an inviting and hygienic environment. The Custodian also monitors custodial supply inventory, assists in maintaining proper stock levels, and helps with the set-up and breakdown of community events. Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly is crucial, as is performing additional duties as requested to ensure effective operations. Attendance, dependability, and punctuality are essential to this job.

Requirements

• Prior experience in custodial or housekeeping work, preferably in a residential or hospitality setting.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to train, motivate, and support a team.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
• Ability to operate and maintain custodial equipment.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members, residents, and supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Performs and oversees routine cleaning and sanitizing of residential and public areas including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, and disinfecting.
• Ensures that restrooms, lobbies, and high-traffic areas are cleaned and restocked throughout the day to maintain an inviting and hygienic environment.
• Monitors custodial supply inventory and assists in maintaining proper stock levels of cleaning materials, paper products, and equipment.
• Assists in set-up and breakdown of community events and special functions as directed.
• Reports maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate department or supervisor.
• Performs additional duties as requested by the Supervisor and the Director of General Services to ensure effective and efficient operations within the community.
• Attendance is essential to this job. Must also maintain dependability and punctuality as outlined in Attendance policy.
