Job Description We are currently seeking an energetic and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Custodian. The Custodian will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing offices, meeting rooms, bathrooms, dining rooms, stairwells and public areas. The ideal candidate for this position is detail-oriented, flexible, able to work independently and willing to take on non-routine cleaning and special projects as the need arises.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a custodian.
  • Ability to operate standard cleaning equipment.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets.
  • Integrity and ability to work independently.
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • Willingness to work alternate weekends.
  • Ability to work with the rest of the staff.
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery.
  • NC Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Empty trash cans and replace can liners.
  • Dust, clean and disinfect surfaces as needed.
  • Use cleaning solutions to remove stains and clean surfaces.
  • Sweep, vacuum and mop floors as appropriate.
  • Perform periodic and as-needed carpet cleaning.
  • Service, clean and supply restrooms with mops and disinfectants.
  • Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees as appropriate.
  • Monitor supply room stock levels.
  • Monitor and maintain equipment (vacuums, sweepers, carpet cleaners, etc) used for cleaning.
  • Mix various cleaning agents as needed.
  • Perform and document routine inspection activities.
  • Maintain and monitor building security and safety by performing such tasks as locking doors after operating hours.
  • Move heavy equipment and furniture as needed.
  • Identify and report possible repair issues.
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects as needed.
  • Clean designated building areas in an efficient, timely manner without supervision.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations as well as all Springmoor policies and procedures.

  • Full-Time Employees: Employees who work on a recognized holiday are paid at 2.5 times their regular rate.
  • Employees who do not work on a recognized holiday receive 8 hours of holiday pay, in accordance with company policy.
