About The Position

This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining various areas within the facility, including offices, common areas, restrooms, and exterior grounds. The role also involves assisting with event setups, breakdowns, and reporting maintenance needs.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required
• Minimum 1-year basic custodian experience helpful
• Must have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Familiarity of Material Safety Data Sheets
• Able to read/understand/follow labels & directions
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment
• Able to interact professionally with individuals having a diverse background
• Successful background clearance

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain offices, classrooms, conference rooms, common areas, breakrooms, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, and building entrances.
• Assist with shelter cleaning as needed, dining room cleanup, ice machine, and food service tables.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and disinfect floors, furniture, fixtures, glass, drinking fountains, and high-touch surfaces.
• Empty trash and recycling; restock restroom and breakroom supplies as needed.
• Maintain exterior grounds by removing litter and debris, emptying ash urns and pet waste stations.
• Assist with event and program setup and breakdown, client apartment turnover cleaning, and other facility cleaning projects.
• Power wash sidewalks, patios, and other exterior surfaces as assigned.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, and supply needs to the supervisor.
• Attend staff meetings and perform other custodial duties as assigned.
