About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is seeking a full-time Custodian for their location in Waikoloa, HI. HBM has been providing quality service since 1957 and is one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii, offering janitorial, mechanical engineering, HVAC, and maintenance services across multiple islands. The Custodian will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of various areas within commercial, retail, and residential properties.

Requirements

Must successfully complete the HBM prescreen.
Ability to operate a golf cart on the premises.
Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions in English.
Strong public relations and communication skills are essential.
Applicants should be ready to perform basic manual labor, keep common areas clean, and regularly lift, press, push, pull, and carry between 50 and 100 pounds.
Physical requirements include reaching overhead, grasping objects, bending, kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing, stretching, walking, and standing during shifts.

Nice To Haves

A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
A valid Hawaii driver’s license is preferred.
Previous custodial experience or a background in a related field is beneficial, although training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Sweep, dust, mop, and disinfect tables, chairs, windowsills, glass windows, and counter tops.
Clean shared spaces, including hallways, stairways, food courts, and restrooms, ensuring sinks, toilet seats, and urinals are sanitized.
Restock cleaning supplies as needed.
Ability to stand and work in various weather conditions.
Efficiently multi-task and work both independently and as part of a team.
Follow safety procedures diligently.
Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service at all times.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and customers.
Report any safety concerns or maintenance issues (e.g., burnt light bulbs).
Notify the appropriate HBM employee accordingly.
