About The Position
Camden Rockport Middle School is seeking year-round Custodians for its schools. This is a full-time position with benefits, offering an immediate opening. The normal work schedule is 3 PM to 11:30 PM, with a flexible schedule including weekend rotation and adaptability to daily assignments. Camden Rockport Middle School, housed in a beautiful new building, serves just under 400 students in grades 5-8 from the towns of Camden and Rockport. CRMS has been implementing a Project Based Learning model of curriculum and instruction and values students' active engagement in the learning process.
Requirements
- Knowledge of safety procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery.
- Ability to perform a wide range of cleaning duties.
- Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other staff.
- Time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Dexterity in problem-solving.
- Background check, including fingerprinting.
- Maine Department of Education CHRC Approval.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and functional environment within the school buildings and grounds, including general floor care and cleaning, restroom maintenance (sanitizing and stocking), waste management, and window/wall cleaning.
- Perform minor repairs to ensure the proper functioning of building systems.
- Aid in set-up for special events.
- Ensure clean school grounds, including litter removal.
- Aid with snow/ice removal as needed.
