About The Position

Kamehameha Schools, Hawaii Campus is currently looking for a Custodian. Our ideal candidate will have some prior custodial or housekeeping experience. While this position will have a regular full-time shift, candidates must have the flexibility to work weekends, holidays & non-shift hours if needed. Job Summary Entry-level position that works with direction and supervision to perform general custodial services, event set up services (interior & exterior), and provides assistance to other custodians as needed.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED.
Good work ethic, including punctuality and good attendance.
Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills and knowledge; ability to demonstrate increasing competence with training and experience.
Willingness to accept and follow directions.
Ability to read and comprehend training materials.
Ability to read, understand, and follow safety instructions.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work flexible schedules to accommodate after-hours school-related functions and activities.
Demonstrated values of inclusion.

Nice To Haves

Valid Driver's License.
Basic computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

Reviews work to be performed in advance with Custodian II/III to ensure understanding of work-related risks and proper mitigation to ensure safety.
Assists or performs custodial services by performing simple duties of lesser skill.
Assists with assembling materials and tools for work to be performed.
With guidance, prepares work areas for work to be performed, and cleans work areas, machines, and equipment following work completion.
With guidance, assists other Custodians in performing a wide range of custodial services.
With direction, may independently perform general custodial services.
Attends all technical and safety- training, including on-the-job training, uses all PPE, and adheres to safety guidance.
Reviews work to be performed in advance with Custodians II or III to ensure understanding of work-related risks and proper mitigations to ensure safety.
Reports all safety hazards to supervisor and/or immediately corrects if able to.
Participates in campus and department events and activities as scheduled.
Adheres to all employee handbook protocols and policies including mandatory reporting.
Constructively identifies and suggests ways to improve organizational effectiveness and operational efficiency.
