About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for cleaning and maintaining all assigned areas of the site building plant, facilities, grounds, and equipment. This role ensures the safety and security of buildings, equipment, and supplies, and involves completing maintenance activities as directed. The position requires adherence to schedules, policies, and cooperation with other staff.

Requirements

Skilled in the maintenance of school district building facilities, equipment, and grounds relative to caring, cleaning, repairing and replacing.

Responsibilities

Complete maintenance activities of building facilities, equipment and grounds as directed by head custodian, building evaluator, or custodial supervisor.
Follow state, school board and school policies relative to the safety and security of buildings, equipment and supplies.
Maintain and/or prepare equipment and supplies as necessary for various tasks.
Report safety hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Submit requests for janitorial materials, supplies, and equipment as needed.
Work cooperatively with other custodial staff, head custodian, building evaluator, custodial supervisor, and other school district personnel as necessary to perform assigned duties.
Adhere to schedule for routine and special tasks as approved by the building evaluator and head custodian.
Attend in-service training as required by the custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the custodial supervisor and/or building evaluator.
Follow federal, state, and Rapides Parish School District policies.
