About The Position
Clever Bee Academy is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Custodian to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, families, and staff. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the daily cleaning, upkeep, and basic maintenance of academy facilities and grounds. This position is essential to ensuring a healthy learning environment and smooth day-to-day operations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in a commercial or institutional cleaning environment
- Comfortable following verbal and written instructions
- Physically capable of meeting job demands, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting 10–60 lbs
- Demonstrates attention to detail and maintains composure in a busy environment
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is not available for this position

Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, gyms, and common areas
- Sweep, mop, buff, strip, and wax floors; vacuum and shampoo carpets as needed
- Clean and restock restrooms, including sinks, toilets, fixtures, soap, paper products, and mirrors
- Maintain classroom and facility cleanliness, including countertops, furniture, windows, doors, blinds, HVAC vents, and AC units
- Remove trash, recycling, and debris from indoor and outdoor areas and prepare for scheduled pickup
- Operate custodial equipment such as floor buffers, shampooers, vacuums, and related tools
- Monitor and reorder cleaning supplies in coordination with academy office staff and budget guidelines
- Maintain academy grounds year-round, including walkway cleaning, debris removal, snow and ice removal, and salting as needed
- Assist with opening and closing procedures when required
- Follow all academy policies, safety procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations
- Maintain confidentiality in all academy operations
- Demonstrate reliable, timely attendance and communicate attendance issues proactively
