About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that school facilities are kept in a safe, sanitary, and attractive condition. The Custodian will perform duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, trash removal, and restroom cleaning. This role may also involve minor repairs and ensuring the proper functioning of building systems. The specific schedule for this position is a 12-month, 8-hour night shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintenance.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and materials.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be able to work the night shift.
• Completion of a seven-year work history, including periods of unemployment, in the "Experience and Credential" section of the application.

Nice To Haves

• Previous custodial or janitorial experience.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, and floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Clean windows, walls, and other surfaces as needed.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the supervisor.
• Assist with minor repairs and upkeep of school facilities.
• Ensure that cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
