About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) is seeking a Part-time Custodian to join their team. HBM has been providing integrated building support services across the Hawaiian Islands since 1957, evolving from a single-service janitorial company to a full-service asset services partner. Requirements

Must pass HBM prescreen check
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English with team members and management.
Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Willingness to follow all safety protocols and report any issues promptly.
Applicants must perform basic manual labor, clean common areas, press, push, pull, frequently lift 40lbs, carry a minimum of 25lbs (up to 50lbs), be able to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, walk, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, walk up and down the stairs and use a ladder climb up and down and stand throughout their shifts.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous janitorial, custodian experience or related experience is preferred, and willing to train

Responsibilities

Effectively communicate in English with team members and property managers to ensure smooth operations and a collaborative work environment.
Maintain cleanliness of all common areas within the building, including sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, scrubbing floors, and carpet cleaning.
Remove and properly dispose of trash in designated areas to maintain a sanitary environment.
Clean restrooms, walk paths, and restock necessary supplies to ensure all areas meet high standards of hygiene and appearance.
Stand and walk for extended periods while performing cleaning tasks with attention to detail and thoroughness.
Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and guidelines to promote a safe workplace.
Report safety issues or building problems (i.e. burnt light bulbs, etc.).
Perform any additional duties as assigned to support overall building maintenance and team success.
