About The Position

The Stanley G. Falk School, one of the largest Special Education Day Schools in New York State, is seeking a dependable Custodian to support daily cleaning and facility upkeep. In this role, you will perform a variety of custodial and cleaning duties to ensure classrooms, offices, and common areas remain sanitary, safe, and well-maintained.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Experience in custodial, janitorial, or cleaning work preferred
Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety procedures

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning (floors, windows, walls, furniture, restrooms, and fixtures)
Operate and maintain cleaning equipment (vacuums, floor machines, buffers)
Perform floor care including stripping, sealing, finishing, and polishing
Identify cleaning needs and resolve issues efficiently
Follow all safety procedures and cleaning protocols
Monitor building security (doors, windows, general safety awareness)
Inspect equipment and report maintenance or safety concerns
Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, and common areas
Work collaboratively with the custodial and facilities team
