The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. This role involves performing janitorial duties, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and maintaining the daily upkeep of assigned areas. The Custodian will also be responsible for Hazardous Waste responsibilities, including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, and packaging of special and hazardous waste. Compliance with safety rules, policies, and procedures is essential, as is the ability to report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor. The position requires performing work assignments in a team with other employees, performing repetitive tasks, and maintaining a clean work area. Additionally, the Custodian must follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules, take direction from supervision, and communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, co-workers, managers, and customers. The role may involve filling in during staff shortages and supporting shift leads in completing punch-list items. Use of proper personal protective equipment and presenting a professional appearance and conduct are also key aspects of this role. Understanding customer service and satisfaction, as well as reporting systems and the environment, is important.
