About The Position

Reporting to the Principal, the Custodians are responsible for maintaining a sanitary and safe environment for the students and staff of the school. The incumbent plays a significant role in maintaining the operations and functionality of the school and supporting a learning environment that is conducive to student success. The Department of Education (EDU) in the Government of Nunavut oversees early learning and K-12 schooling and supports adult education across the territory. It provides leadership, funding, curriculum development, and policy guidance to support student success in all communities. The department supports and administers 45 schools serving students from kindergarten through Grade 12 throughout Nunavut’s communities, helping ensure access to quality education grounded in Inuit culture and languages. The department also licences and supports early learning and child care centres across the territory with funding, training and resource provision, and administers financial and other supports for Nunavut’s post-secondary studentsMinister of Education to create a healthy, strong, and flourishing Nunavut.
