About The Position

Pueblo Diversified Industries (PDI) is seeking hardworking and enthusiastic employees to work in small teams at Gyms on Fort Carson. The Fort Carson Custodian performs work under the authority of the Fort Carson custodial contract and follows all supervision, direction, and oversight to meet contract-related guidelines, provisions, and goals. PDI is a mission-driven Colorado Nonprofit Corporation whose customers and stakeholders include individuals with a disability receiving services, commercial, business, and government entities. PDI's intent with each interaction is to provide service that is in full compliance with all applicable regulations, and which is ethical, accurate, timely, informed, and delivered professionally and respectfully. Requirements

  • A high school degree or its equivalent is required.
  • Prior custodial experience is required.
  • Age 18.
  • Pre-employment background screening, pre-employment drug screening, and successful completion of First Aid and other required certifications are required.
  • All applicants need to have clearance to get onto the Army Post
  • Must be able to function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and work effectively with individuals served, staff, and support agencies.
  • Must be able to relate to and work with disabled and elderly people within the PDI environment.
  • Possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, such as circumference and volume.

Responsibilities

  • Follow procedures for the safe use of chemical cleaners and power equipment
  • Follow safety procedures to check electrical appliances and equipment before use
  • Notify the supervisor with recommendations about equipment repair and replacement
  • Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures
  • Mix and prepare cleaning solutions according to manufacturer specifications and PDI safety guidelines
  • Sweep, scrub, wax, and polish the floor
  • Clean rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture
  • Dust furniture and equipment
  • Polish metalwork
  • Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork
  • Wash windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empty wastebaskets
  • Transport trash and waste to the disposal area
  • Replenish bathroom supplies
  • Sweep, mop, scrubs, and vacuum hallways and office space
  • Transport small equipment or tools between departments
  • Set up tables and chairs in the lunchroom, work centers, and other areas as required
