About The Position

The Custodian position involves a variety of tasks to maintain the cleanliness and safety of assigned areas. This includes floor care, carpet cleaning, restroom servicing, trash removal, window cleaning, and general maintenance. The role also requires reporting maintenance needs, ordering supplies, and potentially assisting other custodians. Snow removal may also be a requirement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Previous custodial experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Sweep, dust mop, spot mop, spray buff, shower scrub, burnish, and refinish all hard surface floors.
• Vacuum, spot clean, shampoo, and extract carpets.
• Move furniture, equipment, and materials for general maintenance.
• Service, clean, and disinfect restrooms, classrooms, and offices.
• Clean drinking fountains.
• Remove trash and debris from the building to the dumpster.
• Clean entryways, partition glass, interior windows, blinds, light fixtures, and vents.
• Replace light bulbs as needed.
• Dust furniture and spot clean walls, ceilings, and doors/frames.
• Maintain custodial closets, work areas, and equipment in a clean and safe manner.
• Perform snow removal as required.
• Report anything that needs repairing or replacing via job request.
• Order and re-stock supplies.
• Assist or relieve relief custodians as assigned.
