The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned. This role involves performing janitorial duties, managing hazardous waste responsibilities, operating motorized cleaning equipment, and maintaining the daily upkeep of assigned areas. The Custodian must comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures, report incidents and hazardous conditions, and work collaboratively with team members. A key aspect of the role is to stop at-risk behavior of others and self, perform repetitive tasks, maintain a clean work area, and follow all protocols and company procedures. The Custodian will also take direction, respond to supervision, and communicate professionally with colleagues and customers. Additionally, the role includes filling in during staff shortages, supporting shift leads, using proper personal protective equipment, and presenting a professional appearance and conduct. Understanding customer service and satisfaction, as well as reporting systems and the environment, are also important aspects of this position.
