About The Position

Performance Academies is seeking a dedicated Custodian for Columbus Performance Academy Shepard. The role supports a safe, clean, orderly, and supportive school environment by maintaining the school facility, responding to custodial and facility needs, and working reliably with students, staff, visitors, and school administration. The custodian works independently to manage daily cleaning priorities, follows instructions and safety procedures, and contributes to a positive team environment. Duties may include other tasks as assigned, and management may revise responsibilities or working conditions.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of required state and federal background checks.
Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing, and other physical activity.
Ability to work in environments with dust, cleaning chemicals, varying temperatures, noise, and other routine maintenance conditions.

Nice To Haves

Valid Ohio driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash throughout the building.
Perform floor care, including buffing, waxing, and carpet maintenance.
Complete minor building repairs and report maintenance issues as needed.
Maintain custodial equipment and ensure adequate cleaning supplies are available.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly school environment.
Follow established safety procedures and complete required safety training.
Operate custodial equipment safely and efficiently.
Respond to custodial and facility needs as assigned to support school operations.
Perform other duties as assigned by school administration.
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Work independently while managing daily cleaning priorities.
Maintain positive working relationships with students, staff, and visitors.
Follow oral and written instructions and contribute to a positive team environment.
