About The Position

The custodian staff will be responsible for performing daily and sometimes weekly maintenance and cleaning duties across various areas of the facility, including main entrances, executive and general offices, conference rooms, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, and the cafeteria/break room areas. This role requires attention to detail in cleaning, sanitizing, dusting, vacuuming, and trash removal to maintain a clean and safe work environment. The custodian will also be responsible for reporting any necessary repairs or malfunctions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
  • Knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the job.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and weekly maintenance and cleaning of main entrances, executive offices, and general offices.
  • Clean and arrange furniture, vacuum upholstery, and spot clean carpets using the Host dry clean extraction method.
  • Dust computer screens, architectural louvers, baseboards, lighting, air diffusers, and ceiling ventilation grills.
  • Damp wipe and clean venetian blinds as needed.
  • Remove trash and replace liners in all designated areas.
  • Clean walls, doors, door frames, windowsills, ledges, and wall areas in conference rooms.
  • Vacuum carpeting and rugs in conference rooms, paying attention to corners, under desks, and behind doors.
  • Windex clean Formica tables, removing smudges, stains, and food.
  • Clean all wall surfaces and remove scuffs in conference rooms.
  • Perform hourly maintenance and cleaning of restrooms, including sanitizing toilets and urinals.
  • Clean, scrub, sanitize, and polish sinks and fixtures with a non-abrasive cleaner.
  • Clean and polish dispensers for hand soap, paper towel, toilet paper, and sanitary napkins.
  • Clean and wash tiled walls, walls around sink areas, and vertical surfaces in restrooms.
  • Thoroughly clean mirrors and bright work in restrooms.
  • Sweep and wet mop all hard surface floors in restrooms with a germicidal disinfectant.
  • High dust and clean moldings, door frames, door vents, ceiling ventilation grills, and diffusers in restrooms.
  • Spot clean and disinfect doors, door frames, and door handles, removing fingerprints and smudges.
  • Clean and remove smudges, fingerprints, and splash marks from all stalls in restrooms.
  • Replenish paper towel, soap, and toilet paper dispensers in restrooms.
  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of stairwells, including disinfecting and wiping clean horizontal surfaces, handrails, and railings.
  • Remove cobwebs and clean fingerprints and hand smudges from door and wall surfaces in stairwells.
  • Sweep and mop/vacuum stairs and stairwells.
  • Sweep and mop all hard surface floors in stairwells.
  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of elevators, including vacuuming carpeted areas and spot cleaning stains.
  • Clean elevator walls and doors, removing prints and smudges.
  • Clean elevator door tracks (thresholds).
  • Clean and polish all metal brite work and keyboards in elevators.
  • Clean elevator ceilings, light covers, and air diffuser grills.
  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of cafeteria, break rooms, kitchenettes, and coffee stations.
  • Dust and damp wipe all horizontal surfaces in food service areas.
  • Discard trash from tables, chairs, and floors in food service areas.
  • Wipe clean walls, splash walls, and adjoining countertops.
  • Clean and sanitize all tabletop surfaces and chairs.
  • Clean all chair frames weekly.
  • Clean all interior glass in food service areas.
  • Clean fingerprints and hand smudges from door surfaces in food service areas.
  • Spot clean all vending machines.
  • Remove all trash to the proper trash site.
  • Clean all trash cans inside and out as needed.
  • Remove all food and sanitize all refrigerators when notice is posted.
  • Clean and sanitize all drinking fountains and water coolers.
  • Report any repairs, malfunctions, or damages to maintenance.
  • Perform daily maintenance and cleaning of the custodian closet.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
